With a History of Innovation and Leadership, the Company That Began as ISECO is now Canada’s “Work Authority.”

In 1938, a one-man company began that would become the pre-eminent provider of managed footwear programs to Canadian industry. Operating under the name Industrial Safety Equipment Company (ISECO), it built a reputation over almost seven decades for leadership and innovation.

The company was the first to offer mobile service to industrial plants and worksites in the 1940s. It was instrumental in working with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) in the 1960s to develop safety footwear and equipment standards. And it was first to offer a technology solution to provide customers with “managed footwear programs” in the 1990s.

We are proud to continue building on that tradition today, with leading innovations like Employee Authorization Cards and our exclusive Women’s Only mobile service. This service is now available only in the South of Ontario.

On September 1st, 2006, the company announced a new stage of growth with the adoption of the Work Authority name and banner. We now operate more than 30 Work Authority retail locations and 25 mobile stores across Canada from Vancouver to Halifax.

Work Authority is proud of its heritage and the trust that Canadian industry has invested in us. Our customers often tell us that their parents and even grandparents relied upon us for our safety footwear. We are pledged to continue working closely with and listening carefully to our customers to maintain our role as Canada’s premier specialist in safety footwear and apparel.
